Built for the Freeze, the Thaw, and the Flow
Winters here are a given, but the wear and tear they leave behind doesn't have to be. We're Southwest Home Innovations, and we design gutter systems for homeowners across Durango, Bayfield, Pagosa Springs, Cortez, Mancos, and the rest of the Four Corners region.
Rather than treating clogs, ice dams, sudden snow slides, and runoff as separate headaches, we look at how water, ice, and snow move across your entire roofline, from the moment they leave the shingles to the moment they hit the ground.
Every plan we put together starts with your property: how steep your roof is, where you sit elevation-wise, the way water naturally flows through your yard, and what the surrounding trees and terrain are doing. The result is a unified system shaped around your home, designed to keep it dry, protected, and low-maintenance season after season.

Everything Your Roofline Needs
Catching rainwater is only part of the job out here. A gutter system in Southwest Colorado also has to deal with snowmelt, ice buildup, sliding snow, pine needles, wildfire debris, and fast-moving storm runoff. That's a lot to ask of one product, so we don't rely on just one.

Unlike sectional gutters that rely on plastic joints and pieced-together segments, our seamless gutters skip the plastic altogether. The continuous profile reduces the leak points you'd normally find at every seam, and it holds up better against sun, snow, and drastic temperature swings.

Even the best system can become a liability once it's clogged with debris. Gutter Helmet® is a patented protection system that fits over existing gutters. It covers the channel while allowing water to flow beneath along a curved leading edge, using surface tension to do the work.

Few winter problems cost homeowners more than ice dams. Helmet Heat® was created to interrupt that process before it starts. Using a self-regulating heat cable, it adjusts its output to the weather, drawing more power when temperatures drop and easing off once things stabilize.

Gutters handle water only after it leaves the roof. Snow fences step in earlier, managing snow before it can release all at once. The S-5! ColorGard® snow fence system uses aircraft-grade aluminum and is engineered around your roof's specific snow retention needs.

Where Standard Gutters Meet Their Match
The climate around the Four Corners puts a lot of pressure on a gutter system, and what works in a milder climate often falls short in the face of the snow, sun, debris, and temperature swings common to this region. That’s why we'd rather over-prepare for these conditions than leave your home exposed to them.
Southwest Home Innovations is the exclusive regional dealer for Gutter Helmet®, Helmet Heat®, and S-5! ColorGard®. Our certified Gutter Helmet® installers also undergo an 11-step certification process, ensuring that every installation meets the product's intended performance standards. That combination of certified expertise and premium hardware lets you trust your roofline year-round without a second thought.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our Elevated Seamless Gutters skip the plastic components found in sectional systems and use a continuous profile that reduces common leak points. They're built to handle heavy snow loads, high-altitude sun, freeze-thaw stress, and the drainage demands unique to Southwest Colorado.
In most cases, yes. Gutter Helmet® is designed to fit over your current gutters. We'll assess the condition, configuration, pitch, and drainage performance of what you already have before recommending the best path forward.
Not quite. Standard heat tape runs at one fixed wattage, no matter what's happening outside. Helmet Heat® adjusts as conditions change and can integrate with Gutter Helmet® to provide protection and ice prevention together.
We typically see ice dams from freeze-thaw cycles, pine needle buildup, wildfire-season debris, storm overflow, snowmelt that overwhelms standard gutters, and foundation erosion from poor drainage. Our systems are designed with these exact concerns in mind.
